can people with hearing aids be in the olympics?

There is no reason that a hearing ad should disqualify you. Such a device might be subject to inspection (to make sure you weren’t using it for unfair coaching instruction, but otherwise it should neither help nor hinder you, so would be allowed.

Jeff Float is legally deaf.
In 1984 he was part of the Gold medal winning 800 meter freestyle relay at the Los Angeles Olympics.
He also made the 1980 Olympic team. We boycotted those Olympics. 1980 was when he was in his prime as a swimmer.
So, go for it. I don’t know if you can swim with a hearing aid in. Won’t the water damage it? But being deaf is not a reason for being kept out of the Olympics.

It depends on so much. I can’t imagine that a hearing problem itself would DQ from the Olympics but being a swimmer myself, you would need to listen for the buzzer to go/stop/dq etc. I guess there can be alternatives but you would have to check with the Olympic rules. Good luck
