I lost my hearing aids. how do I tell my parents :S?

I’ve got a hearing loss, I’m 21 and when I was 15 they (of course) paid for my hearing aids.. they were in a case that must have fallen out of my backpack..

of course by now they are past warranty. I can’t afford new hearing aids, not with university and my savings towards moving out. but I don’t want them to offer to help me pay for new ones. I feel so horribly guilty about this, I don’t know how I’m going to tell them .. what an idiot I am.

My mother lost one of hers after warranty ran out. She contacted the manufacturer and they offered to replace it at a fraction of the cost. It might be worth a call.

They are going to notice when they speak to you and you don’t reply
Don’t be so hard on yourself, everyone makes mistakes and this is only a real little one.
Maybe you could put out some notices or posters in case anyone finds them?
