why do some people think i am stupid just because i have hearing aids?

some of the people in my school think that i can not do things as well as they can because i have hearing aids.when i can do things Just as well as they can.i play sports(swim)and i get good grades and my grades are better than there grades.like one guy if i do not do something perfect than he well start telling me that i am retarded.

when i was in the first grade i went to a party and i took a swimming test to go in the deep water and all the mothers went up to my mother and told her that sense i could not hear that i could not swim (i had to retake the swim test to show that i could swim)when there kid were drowning trying to take the swim test.
i would just like to know why some people think that deaf people are stupid and retarded
p.s. i do have some of my hearing

I agree, they are completely shallow. And people trying to bring you down just want to feel superior and must not have anything better to do because they totally ****.

people are ignorant. Some people shout at blind people. Some people don’t realize that deaf and hard of hearing people can drive. Some people think *** people go to hell…….. It boils down to ignorance. Educate them if you feel they want to learn and if they want to live in ignorance then ignore then and feel bad that they will never be as smart as you are

I hope you are mistaken.I have never ever hear people say that. I respect those that are hearing impaired. Thank God for hearing aids. I am very happy that you are smart and get good grades, play sports. We can’t go through life listening to people that try to hurt us. I don’t have the answers as to why people are so cruel and mean to one another. We aren’t on this earth long and we should love each other. Keep up your good work.

I understand what you are going through. I went through the same thing myself. The term most people to believe is deaf and dumb. However this is a politically incorrect statement because deaf people learn differently. Anything that is different people have a tendency to say and do stupid things. Its not your problem its their problem because they do not understand.
