I have a profound hearing loss caused by the hardening of the inner ear and it is supposed to be permanent but
Sunshine asked:
I have noticed that I am starting to hear pretty good without my hearing aids and the only change I have made is that I started a ******** exercise program about three weeks ago. My ear doctor says that there is no way that it can cause my hearing to get better but you can’t argue with physical evidence. Am I crazy or has anyone else heard of this happening? I made an appt. with my audiologist for next month.

For your sake, I hope it’s not - but it might just be a fluke.

Doctors do NOT know everything. I could tell you story after story of personal experience of when doctors were 100% wrong.
After my tonsilectomy I lost my abilty to taste anything–the doctor told me that was impossible. My taste finally came back after 2 months, but it’s never been as strong (which is OK, keeps me from getting fat).
I had a lot of hip pain a few years ago, the doctor told me my hip was degenerating and there was no way to reverse it. I started stretching a lot and all the symptoms are gone and have never come back.
I had an allergic reaction to suntan lotion, and the doctor insisted that it was just hundreds of flea bites from the squirrels in my backyard! How messed up is that? I quit using the lotion and the “flea bites” went away.
I could go on and on. Never ignore your own opinions and experiences. Who care what they say anyway?

It’s true doctors don’t know everything. They are human. Advances in science and medicine are always being made, and doctors keep learning. Sometimes there are miracles. Supposedly the human body works hard to repair itself. I have trouble with my hearing so if all I need is to increase the intensity of my workout, great.
Even when you follow your hunches (because you know your body) weigh what your doctor says and make practical adjustments in your life that might be good for you anyway. Always do research. Sometimes instead of medicine, that can do God knows what to the body, there are alternatives.
