A world of absolute deafness: what do you think would happen?

Wow, that is a nightmare. Imaginative one, too. Once everyone calmed down, I think, scientists and doctors would do everything they could to figure it out, and if they were unsuccessful, we would all have to change to having just words and pictures on the screen for the news- no unheard newscasters are necessary. There of course would be no radio and telephone, only email. A fire alarm would probably be some kind of huge visual picture, or no one would know. Movies would ****. Communication for anything would be a slow process, and everyone would have to learn it. If there was an attack on us, we would not hear it. It would be a depressing world, with no music, no sound of a bird chirping, or anything. A newborn baby’s cry would be unheard, though it would exist to every other animal. The one good thing about it would be that the world would slow down in terms of communication, and everyone would no the same language.

I think I would like a world of silence.

Humanity would adapt itself eventually and all other senses would become enhanced.

Rapp music would end…Thank God!

Everyone would learn sign language and we’d all be fine.

NO MUSIC would end…deaf people love music as much as hearing people do. One glorious thing is the word DUMB would no longer be synonomous with DEAF.
