What helps prevent deafness in dogs?

I have a rather old dog who went deaf.
I have a rather old dog who went deaf.
I was wondering if, for my younger dogs, there were any supplements to help delay the aging process (when it comes to hearing loss).

As far as age related hearing loss? I don’t know of anything to prevent that, besides just good care to keep the animal as healthy in general as possible.
Testing and screening can help prevent genetic deafness, but age causes many things.
I don’t use many supplements. I just try to feed my dogs really well, exercise them, train them and see the vet when they need it. My dogs have lived on average 14-15 yrs. and my last cat went to 20 without any supplements.
The current cat is 15 and doing well. Current dogs are 1 yr. old and naughty

unfortunately in older dogs as in older humans its just a part of life..but with younger dogs it can come from overbreeding and from incestual breeding…try to find out as much as you can about your dogs background…alot of dalmatians are deaf because of massive over breeding..and you should never mate two dogs from the same litter.though many people do for money!
