What are other countries and areas hearing and doing about the HIV/AIDS pandemic?

I’m busy writing an essay to apply to a trip to Southern Africa. It’s on the HIV/AIDS pandemic and I’d really love to get some real news feed on it. I’d love it if people, could just let me know what their countries or areas are hearing and doing about the pandemic. Most of the world is waiting for America to come up with a solution to this problem. Most of the world is waiting for America to slove all of its problems.

I’m from America where even high school students do their part in helping the AIDS/HIV pandemic yet it seems to just get worser and worser from concerts to campaigns like the red campaign buying anything from selected major retailers and all the proceeds go to the cause and yet nothing seems to help. =(
