im 12 and im getting hearing aids. im scared that the other kids will laugh at me?

There’s Nothing Wrong With Having Them And If They Aren’t Really Visable Then It Won’t Really Be A Problem If You Don’t Tell Anyone, But If You Want To Talk Just Tell People Who You Trust.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Think of the Kids who are at the Shriners Hospital many of which are battling Cancer… Now there’s a challenge dont you think?. We not perfect and the fact that you will be getting hearing aids shows that your parents are interested in your welfare. Be glad that you will be able to hear. I have a dear friend who has had hearing aids for over 20 years, after a while you dont notice it. You will be Fine.

I know how people say , don’t worry about what other people think, but lets face it every one worries about other peoples opinions. If they are not really visible I wouldn’t worry about it, really. I know a boy who has earing aids and he never gets picked on. Just think you’ll be able to hear better:)

the best way to help is get a clear hearing aid my friend has one and not many people can see it or tell it is even there.
and your real friends will not make fun of you.

Kids are jerks. You just have to not let the teasing get to you. Or become really big and strong.

I have 3 cousins who all had to have hearing aids, and you know what they did? They got them in multiple colors to match their outfits! They knew they would be seen differently now with hearing aids, so they decided to make the best of it. If yours aren’t visible really, then thats always nice. Just be you, because thats something you will always be good at, and no one or no thing can take that away from you.

Cheer up! Things will get better and it will all be okay.

dontworry. for a few doys you will feel tense. but in my class there is a girl with a hearing aid. she is always doing great, people do not pick on her. people will not want to hurt your feelings. and people your age realy dont pick on peopple for things like that.
