I have a behind the ear hearing aid and I’ve been getting funny buzzing, static type noises. What’s causing it

Could the battery be going out? If so you need to get a new one and test it out.

my x has hearing aids. i think if i remember your battery is low

Get ye to the hearing repair-est! I suspect it’s not a bad battery. If you’ve been wearing aids this long, you what your aid does when the battery goes south. More likely is a problems with the electronics. I obviously can’t diagnose the problem from this distance, but I would suspect one of the following. 1) A bad connection (solder joint or wire), 2) a bad microphone, or 3) a bad speaker - or a combination of any of the above, 4) the speaker or microphone are loose within the aid (the glue has come undone). And of course, the ever popular - your amplifier chip has decided to bite the big one. If your aid is over 5 years old, it’s to some degree living on borrowed time. They all die eventually. The ear isn’t the nicest neighborhood to work. You’ve got to put up with a lot of gunk (ear wax), it’s hot and humid, and loud noises may fry your innards. Check to see if the aid is still on warranty and/or see if you insurance covers a new one. Unfortunately, I think this one is going to cost you some bucks.
