Will I have to take off my hearing aids for the metal detector at the airport?

I’m not used to this flying business, but am reluctantly going in the Summer.
Is it true that you have to remove all metal objects from your person?
And does that include hearing aids? I don’t want to set off any alarms, but would like to hear!
