what other kinds of hearing aids?

what other kinds of hearing aids are there? i’m 24 I was born with a severe hearing loss in my left ear. I have a nerve damage. I hear normally in my right. I stopped wearing hearing aids when i was 15. As a teenager it’s a little awkward to wear them. I still got good grades without them. As I said I am now 24. I wore those big BTE hearing aids. I was diagnosed way back in 1990. When I was younger I didn’t wear them all the time only at school. Are there hearing aids that are smaller besides the BTE kinds? I think the BTE may be the only kind for the nerve loss. Do people who have a nerve loss also use ITC or whatever it is the ones that go in your ears.
