Can you comment on the benefits of getting hearing aids in Denmark?

In the latest manifestation of “health tourism”, they are opting to bypass NHS waiting lists, and the high prices charged by the private sector.

In USA digital hearing aids were offered at $7000.00 USD whereas you could get them in Denmark for only $3000.00 for the pair(2003 data)
Nowadays the price is about $2226.00 USD per hearing aid which still makes them cheaper today than they were in 2003. I don’t know what the price is in the US now

did you know that 300000 ppl catch aids every year in south africa? Stop focusing on western world.

Evidently Denmark does have the cumbersome taxes and regulations that the U.S. government puts on American business.

Hearing aids in Denmark should be heated to keep them from freezing to your ear.
There…I said it…and I realize that I am going out on a limb….But, that is how I truly feel.

You can buy them in the US over the internet for under US$300.00 per ear.
different models cost different amounts but there is no sane reason why hearing aids should be a closed/restricted market.

The hearing aid I referenced for $300 per ear is an analog hearing aid; most Digital Hearing aids are around 600-900 per ear. for instance -
The prices are certainly coming down; Hearing aids are very complex and the costs of designing them in such a small package is high, The volume of sales on any particular model is not high enough to offset the high engineering costs so they have to keep the prices fairly high to compensate for the smaller sales volume.
My question would be why are the costs of these devices in the UK so high?
